BUY MYSELF FLOWERS  — Created from a mountain of ideas that starts with a song. On my listening journey I saw visions of flowers and memories dancing in space. This is that universe as a whole experience.

Flowers, dust, memories, time, and reflection. Inspired by the universe, relationship nostalgia (journals, flowers, notes, texts, photographs, videos, social media posts) and memories of love, I designed a full visual identity around the song Flowers. With a scrapbook aesthetic I aimed to tie analog with digital to encompass the passage of time. The artwork style is bursting with beautifully cut-out and placed flowers.

The combination of floral motifs, collaged elements, and handwritten script echo the album’s lyrical themes of finding independence after heartbreak, romantic expressions of love, loss, and the power of self-love. Mirroring is used to demonstrate how our relationships can be a reflection of our inner emotional state, our capacity for self-love and our understanding of romantic intimacy. In the golden mirror with surrounding flowers, the animated reflection is also offset to establish how two individuals in love may reflect in each other, but imperfectly, like when dancing.
